Success Story Competition

Written by Kimberley Pounder

Parents are often telling us about how CAMI has helped their children improve in their school work. Why don’t you write and tell us about your own success story and have a chance at winning a prize?

Tell us about how CAMI has helped you with achieving your goals. It may be that you used it to practise your school spelling words and then got 10/10 in your test for the first time ever! Or maybe you practiced your number facts repeatedly with the speed tests and now you blitz the mental maths tests in class.

At high school level, you may have always struggled with algebra but now after diligently working through algebra exercises in your CAMI Maths course you are the one explaining how to solve algebraic equations to your classmates.

We look forward to hearing about how your success has made you feel about yourself and the difference it has made to you at school. Your personal story should be between 70 - 150 words. When you have checked your punctuation, grammar and spelling send it in to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for your chance to win a ……….

Tell us a bit about yourself…

I grew up in Port Macquarie on the Mid North Coast and I moved to Sydney to attend teachers college after my HSC. I now live on the Central Coast with my two gorgeous sons.

What is your experience as a tutor?

I have a Diploma in Teaching. I worked as a classroom teacher in both the public and Catholic school system for 6 years. I have also worked as a tutor in my local area for the past 8 years and I have been a tutor here at CAMI for 9 months... Read more...

Spelling can be a difficult skill to master. This is because there are many different and subtle variations between words in the English language. In this edition of the CAMI Express Milica, one of our English tutors, takes a look at some commonly misspelt words.

For this issue I will be covering twenty commonly misspelled words. Some of you might wonder what the importance of learning to spell is, especially when we have access to modern computing technology and spell checkers. Learning to spell helps to reinforce the connection between letters and their sounds and learning how to spell at a high level will help improve both your reading and writing...Read more...

In each edition of the CAMI Express our tutors will take a look at a Maths topic to help our students with their studies. This month one of our Maths tutors, Imran, explains Integers and Whole Numbers.

CAMI Worldwide is proud to support CanTeen, a fantastic organisation which provides support to young people living with cancer. If you would like to learn more about CanTeen and the important work they do please visit their website or click here for a list of their 2012 fundraising events.

Here at CAMI we are constantly on the look out to for students who are performing well using the CAMI program. We like to recognise the efforts of these students with an award. Awards are given for diligence and improvements in Maths and English as well as for various outstanding achievements for particular tasks.

In this issue of the CAMI Express we would like to send special congratulations to Jessie who is achieving excellent results across all areas with her CAMI work! Well Done!
